The Northville Stallion freshman team got off to a strong start for the 2018 season, crushing the Livonia Blue Jays 38-0 at Bentley Field in Livonia.

The Orange Crush set the tone early, with a 7-6 warmup quarter. Colin Richardson ran a kickback for a TD, and Brody Domeracki scored the extra point. Cohen Stiteler and Erik Brown paced the Crush defense with multiple tackles.

The strong Crush effort bled over into the start of the freshman game, with Ryan Jaafer scoring on a rushing touchdown, and scoring on a pick-six for an early 12-0 lead. Special teams continued their stellar play with two on-side kick takeaways, the first of which led to a 50-yard TD run by Aiden Kersey followed up by a 1-yard TD QB sneak by Andrew Shukeireh, for a 25-0 halftime lead.

The offense continued to pour it on in the 2nd half, with an 11 yard TD run by Nick Lundberg and a 50-yard TD run by Andrew Shukeireh. The Stallion defense was physical throughout the game, with the Blue Jay medical staff making frequent trips to the field. The Black defense stood tall all afternoon and led by Ryan Schuckel and Zac Slagle held the Blue Jay offense to negative net yardage.

Final Score: Blue Jays 0, Stallions 38

The freshman team will face the Walled Lake Braves in their next contest.
