October 21, 2017: Chargers (13) at Stallions (25)

The Stallions capped off a successful season with an impressive 25-13 win over the Commerce Chargers. The defense set the tone early with a turnover on downs, after a key 4th down flag pull by Zac Slagle. On their first offensive possession, Colin Dowling threw a 48 yard TD bomb to Zac Slagle for an early 6-0 lead. The Chargers responded with a long TD run and extra point conversion to take a 7-6 lead. The Stallions moved the ball on offense, lead by a long run by Jake Weber; however, an impressive interception stallled the drive. Commerce eventually scored and led 13-6. However, that would be the last time they scored as the defense lead the way on the comeback win. Evan Luo's two flags and two power runs helped spark the Stallions. The comeback started with a long 45-yard TD run by Colin "Rushin'" Richardson, capped off by Luke Dababneh's extra point run to knot things up 13-13. The grey line set the tone early in the 2nd half with a 40 yard run by Kaden Mach to take a 19-13 lead. The defense stood tall in the 5th quarter forcing a turnover on downs after Brody Domeracki's key 4th down flag. The great two-way player then scampered 39-yards for a TD to put the finishing touches on a 25-13 win. Coach Toomey's squad won 5 of their last 6 games, including the big Battle for the Shoe victory at the Big House. The boys should be proud of their efforts this season.
