Northville Youth Football Association

The Northville Varsity Stallions traveled to Walled Lake Northern to pick up a decisive victory against the Gators, with a final score of 47-7.

The first quarter started with a kickoff by Brodde, who then made the tackle, leaving the Gators to start at the Northville 49. Tackles by Reece Jones, Grady Zoroya, and Andy Garza led to a pass on 3rd and 17, which was intercepted by Alexander Casagrande and returned 10 yards. Runs by Solomon Williams and Zoroya led to a 4th down on the Gators 37. A completed pass from Williams to Jones was short, and the Gators started on their own 32. A sack by Garza and tackle by Gregory Staton led to a Gators attempted pass, which was intercepted by Jones and returned to the Gators 3 yard line. Zoroya punched the ball in, and a score of 6-0 after the failed extra point. Jones made the tackle on the kickoff, and the Gators started on their own 38. Tackles by Casagrande, Luke Brodde, and Jake Merritt led to a Gators punt.

The second quarter started with the Stallions driving from their own 35. A pass from Williams to Jones led to a quick touchdown and a 12-0 lead. The Gators started their drive after the kickoff with a long run but the touchdown was prevented by 17. Tackles by Tyler Ross, Garza, and Joe Lavigne drove the Gators back, but a flea flicker pass led the Gators to first and goal on the Northville 1. Penalties and tackles by Brodde, Ross, Merritt, and Jones, and pass defense by Staton led to a 4th and goal at the Northville 8 yard line. A desperation pass by the Gators was caught in the end zone, and the score was 12-7 after the point after. Ross recovered the kick, and it was 1st and 10 Northville at their own 31. Successive runs by Zoroya and Ross led to a 3rd down at the Gators 44 yard line, when Zoroya broke a long run for the Stallions touchdown and a 20-7 lead after the kick by Lavigne. The kickoff was fielded by the Gators and the tackle made by Brodde, Staton, and Raymond Shukeireh. The Gators drive was slowed by Staton, Jones, and Nate Cotter, and a sack by Garza and Ross led to a big loss. Northville took over on the Gators 26 yard line. A pass on first down from Williams to Zoroya led to a score of Northville 26, Gators 7. A sack by Zoroya on the Gators last possession ended the half.

Lavigne recovered the kickoff for Northville to start the third quarter. Runs by Lavigne and Jones, led to a first down on the Gators 30. A pass from Jones to Marco Caruana produced another touchdown, for a score of Williams to Lavigne after the extra point. The Gators started on their own 36, but fumbled, which was recovered by Garza. Northville took over and on their first play, Lavigne scored a touchdown for a score of 40-7 Northville. The Gators took over, but were slowed on tackles by Shukeireh, Casagrande, Douglas, Saad, Zoroya, and Ryan Reynolds.

The fourth quarter saw the Gators driving, slowed by a tackle by Carlos Alvarez, which led to a Gators punt. Northville completed a long pass to Shukeireh, getting them to the Gators 29. Holding penalties negated a touchdown from Jones to Ross, and a long run by Ty Meadows got Northville to a 1st and goal. A run by Jones set up a pass to Luke Brohl resulting in a touchdown, but it was negated by a holding penalty. A pass then from Jones to Meadows led to the final touchdown of the game, and a final score of 47 to 7.
