September 16, 2017: Chargers (13) at Stallions (22)

The young Northville Stallions used a strong defensive performance and an air attack to take down the Commerce Chargers 22-13 Saturday morning at Tom Holzer Field. With the win, the Stallions moved to 2-2 on the season. The Stallions dug themselves into an early 7-0 hole after allowing a kick-off return for a touchdown. Later in the half, Northville was able march the ball down the field, with long runs by Luke Yaekle, Drew Meussner, and Brody Domeracki. The drive was capped off with a 38-yard TD run by Brody Domeracki. Drew Meussner aired it out to Brody Domeracki for the 2-pt conversion to take an 8-7 lead. The Commerce Charges put together a long 9 minute drive, capped off by a short TD run to take a 13-8 lead into halftime. However, that would be the last time the Chargers scored, as the Stallions clamped down on defense, pulling flags left and right throughout the 2nd half, led by Zac Slagle's 6 flags, Erik Browns' 5 flags, and key stops by Logan Toomey and Andres Chacon. Northville went up 16-13 in the 4th quarter with a long 55-yd TD run by Zac Slagle, capped off by a 2-pt conversion, with Collin Dowling airing it out to Zac Slagle. Brody Domeracki capped off a monster day with a short TD run on 4th down to secure the 22-13 victory. The Stallions will be off next week ahead of their big homecoming game against the Walled Lake Braves.
