August 19, 2017: Rockets (41) at Stallions (30)

The Northville Stallions started off the 2017 season with bank, taking the opening kick-off back for a touchdown; however, they were unable to slow down the high-powered Farmington Rockets offense, ultimately falling 41-30 at Northville's Tom Holzer Field on Saturday. Zach Slagle took the opening kick-off to the house for an early 6-0 lead. After a quick TD response from Farmington, Zach Slagle broke off a long 50-yard TD run to make the score 12-7 at the end of the first quarter. Brody Domeracki added a long TD of his own on 4th down to put Northville back on top 18-14. After Northville found themselves down 27-18, Colin Richardson inched the Stallions closer with a 50-yard TD run to make the score 27-24 Rockets. However, the Rocket offense was too much for the young Stallions, despite 7 tackles from Zach Slagle, 4 tackles from Drew Meussner, and 3 tackles from Colin Richardson. Coach Dan Toomey will have his Stallions ready for their first away game next Saturday in Livonia.
