The Colts kicked off the Battle of the Shoe in style, delivering a commanding performance
against the Stallions that had fans cheering from the first whistle!
Starting with the developmental team, the Colts set the tone early with a rock-solid
defense. #50 Robert Elliott made a standout play, recovering a fumble and putting the
Stallions on notice. With that momentum, the Colts quickly took charge of the game. After
receiving the opening kickoff, the Stallions struggled against the relentless Colts defense,
culminating in a turnover on downs with 4:41 left in the first quarter.
The Colts took full advantage, led by their star player, #17 Grant Chandler. He dazzled the
crowd with a thrilling 38-yard run on the opening drive, setting up the Colts in prime scoring
position. Chandler then capped off the drive with a touchdown, putting the Colts ahead 6-0
after a missed extra point.
As the second quarter unfolded, Chandler continued to shine like a star. He connected
with #24 Colin Brady for a crucial 25-yard pass that kept the Colts' momentum rolling. The
Colts' defense held strong, stifling every Stallions attempt to advance. With just over two
minutes left in the half, Chandler powered through once more, scoring his second
touchdown and extending the lead to 13-0 after a successful extra point. The Colts headed
into halftime with a comfortable cushion.
The excitement didn’t stop there! The Colts kept their foot on the gas in the third quarter,
with Chandler breaking free for a jaw-dropping 40-yard run. He followed it up with a quick
7-yard rush for yet another touchdown, bringing the score to 19-0. The defense, led by #9
Max Bonn, continued to shine, forcing a turnover on downs with just under four minutes
left in the quarter.
As the game rolled into the fourth quarter, the Stallions finally found their footing and
managed to score with 1:42 left on the clock. However, it was too little, too late! The Colts
sealed the deal with a convincing 19-6 victory, claiming the coveted Battle of the Shoe
Trophy!
Overall, it was a thrilling team effort from the Colts, with Chandler leading the charge both
on the ground and through the air. The defense was a fortress, consistently thwarting the
Stallions' offensive efforts. With this momentum, the Colts are ready to keep the winning
