The Northville Colts Freshman football team put on a commanding performance in their latest game, defeating the Northville Stallions 25-7. Both teams came out strong, but it was the Colts’ resilience and key plays that ultimately secured their victory.

The game began as a defensive battle, with both teams scoreless early in the first quarter. The momentum shifted when the Colts recovered a fumble deep in Stallions territory at the 30-yard line. Capitalizing on the turnover, Colts’ quarterback #11 Shota Nagai found the end zone for the first touchdown of the game, though the extra point attempt was unsuccessful, leaving the score at 6-0.

Shortly after, the Colts’ defense forced another fumble, but they were unable to turn it into points. The Stallions answered back with a touchdown from their own #8, and with a successful extra point, took a 7-6 lead with 8:29 remaining in the half.

The Colts regained control when #87 Sawyer Mathews broke free for an explosive 60-yard touchdown run, though the extra point attempt fell short, making the score 12-7. Moments later, Mathews struck again, this time on a 45-yard sweep play to the strong side, extending the Colts’ lead to 18-7 by halftime, despite another missed PAT.

At halftime, both the Stallions Cheer and Colts Cheer teams wowed the crowd with their Pom performances. It was apparent how hard both teams have been working by executing Cheerfest-ready routines.

The Colts maintained their dominance in the second half, opening with an impressive 7-minute drive down the field. The drive was capped by #21 Micah Czap finding the end zone for a touchdown, and successfully converting the extra point to bring the score to 25-7.

The Stallions struggled to generate offensive momentum, and the Colts’ defense remained firm, holding them scoreless for the remainder of the game. With this victory, the Colts move forward with confidence as they continue their season as Battle for the Shoe CHAMPIONS! GO COLTS!
