The Stallions Junior Varsity looked well-prepared for their opening game. On the game’s very first play, Liam Zarotney stripped the ball from the quarterback then picked it up and ran it in for a touchdown.

On the next play, the swarming Stallions defense suffocated the Blue Jays and caused another fumble led by Braden Toomey. Ben Lukasik fell on the ball for the recovery. On the next play, Ashtyn Kersey took it 39 yards to the house for the second touchdown.

The following series, the Stallions defense would not relent, and Liam Crowe stripped the ball from the Blue Jays running back to cause another turnover. A few plays later, Liam Crowe threw a swing pass out to Ryan Spadafora for a 12-yard touchdown reception. Spadafora then kicked his third extra point in a row and the Stallions led 24-0 midway through the first quarter. The score remained 24 to 0 at the half as the Stallions remained stingy on defense.

On the first play of the second half, Rylan Brown turned on the jets and went 68 yards for a Stallions touchdown for the development squad. Throughout the third quarter, the Stallions Defense kept harassing the Blue Jays and caused another turnover, and Mitch Lozo fell on the fumble. The Blue Jays held firm on defense in response.

During the fourth quarter, Ben Lukasik fell on an arrant punt for the recovery but the Stallions were not able to convert it into points. The remainder of the game went back and forth with neither team scoring.

It was a great team effort by the Stallions and the final score was 24-0. Next up, the Stallions verse the Livonia Falcons on September 9th.
