The Northville Stallions Junior Varsity team put on a show, exhibiting the effort they’ve put in all season, for family and friends against the Dearborn Lions this past Saturday, September 30.

Kyle Douglas recovered the ball on the opening kickoff, and Stallions were off and running.

They drove the ball down the field with some hard running by Jack Beresford and Ashton Kersey. They completed the drive with a touchdown pass from Liam Crowe to Owen Hoff.  Mitch Lozo’s kick was good, bringing the score to 8-0.

The Lions were unable to convert so the ball reverted back to the Stallions. On their next possession, the Stallions went to their ground game with another tough run by Jack Beresford behind his offense of line. He scored on a 10-yard run, bringing the score to 14-0.

The defense continued to flex its muscle with a big hit from LB David Christensen to pop the ball loose and recovered by Jack Beresford. On the next possession, Liam Crowe took the ball on a quarterback keeper for a 46-yard touchdown run. An extra point catch from Crowe to Lucas Stefani brought the score up to 21-0

Stallions Defense continued to put pressure on the Lions. Rylan Brown intercepted the ball and ran it back to the Lions’ 29-yard line. On the next play, David Christensen ran the ball for a touchdown. Owen LaVaute ran it in for the extra point. 28-0

To open up the second half, Jack Blazo returned the kickoff 69 yards for a Stallions touchdown, making the score 34-0. The Lions’ offense attempted to respond but was unable to convert.

To complete the scoring, Stallions’ Lucas Stefani ran the ball from the 9-yard line for a touchdown. The Dearborn Lions made every effort to put points on the board and stop the Stallions from scoring but the Stallions held strong, ending the game 40-0.

The Stallions face the Northville Colts next at the Big House in Ann Arbor on Saturday, October 7.
