It was a crisp autumn day and the Big House in Ann Arbor was the location. The Northville Colts would battle the Northville Stallions in their annual rivalry game. Who would win The Battle for the Shoe?

The game started with the fast paced 4 minute action of both teams developmental squads. These boys are the future stars of Northville football. Sikorski, DiMora and Nagai each had important tackles as the Stallions were stopped on their 1st drive. Sadly for the Colts they could not gain momentum against the stalwart defense of the Stallions. No points were scored in this very even matchup.

The Stallions received the kickoff to start regulation play. The Stallions drove the ball with success and were in the Red Zone when a bad snap flew over QB Crowe's head and the ball was recovered by #21 Micah Czap. The Colts could not get a 1st down and the ball was turned over on downs. Stallions once again torched the Colts defense and moved the ball at will, highlighted by "Human Wrecking Ball" #29 Zach Shoucair run knocking Colts down with a powerful stiff arm. The Colts pulled it together and the Stallions lost the ball after 4 downs. On 1st down #12 QB Rocco Leone would score on a long run of 50 yards only to have it called back due to an illegal block in the back penalty. Following this would be the start of the 2nd quarter. #48 WR Max Kegelmann would make a 15 yard diving catch but come up short of a 1st down on 4th down. The subsequent drive by the Stallions was all #6 Willie D and he had a run of 8 yards and followed it up with a 35yard TD run. 2 Pt conversion would be no good. Stallions 6 Colts 0.

Colts could not move the ball behind #7 Brody Tomasaitis 3 tackles for loss. Getting the ball back #25 "Birdman" Crowe decided to take the game over. After several positive gains throwing Colts down one by one he scores the 2nd TD of the game. A Zach Shoucair 1 pt coversion makes the score 13-0 Stallions.

The Colts Highlight of the game came on the following kickoff. #22 Owen Medvecky stuns the large crowd with a 70 yard TD return. This was exactly what the Colts needed. Missing the 2pt Conv. the score is now Stallions 13- Colts 6.

After a brief respite the Developmental boys came out to start the 2nd half. The Colts rookies took control and promising star #11 RB Shota Nagai meant business and would not be stopped. He ran for 12 yards and then took the ball 40 yards to the house for a Colts TD. #8 Johnny Trussler made a solid tackle for loss and the Stallions failed to move. The Colts rookies win 6-0. The future looks bright!

Colts veteran team gets the 2nd half kick. #9 Carter Williams makes a great 1st down catch. This would be the last time the Colts got a 1st down as #29 Zach Shoucair took control on defense for the Stallions.

The following Stallions possession was all "Birdman" Crowe will several runs for big gains finishing with a 20 yard TD scamper. Shoucair with another conversion giving extending the Stallion lead to 20-6.

Each following possession would end up with each team turning the ball over on downs. #76 "Big Daddy" Alex Simpson would seal the game with a 4th quarter fumble recovery and the Stallions would run out the clock.

Two Stallion players dominated this game. #25 Crowe and #29 Shoucair. The Colts put up a valiant fight but the running game of the Stallions could not be stopped. The Stallions are the winners of this years Shoe. 20-6.

With the knowledge learned I am sure the Colts can absolutely stand up and win if these 2 teams should meet again. The players will be hungry and the coaching staff will learn and put together a gameplan that will make things tough. Lets hope the Colts get this opportunity. In the meantime, let the Stallions savior the victory! Great job to all the boys!

LETS GO COLTS!
