Stallions Flag Football Beats Livonia in Close Battle 31-27

Our Northville Stallions hosted the Livonia Eagles at Tom Holtzer field on Sunday, September 24th.

This was a close game with big plays and big defensive stops.

In the first quarter, the Stallions started with the ball. A big run by #12 Wesley Shulmeister put the Stallions in the Eagles' territory. On that same opening drive, #13 Abraham Frazier converted a long 3rd down for a touchdown to put the Stallions up 6-0. On defense, #79 Wesley Diebolt and #19 Caden TenBroeck made key tackles to force a turnover on downs. 

In the second quarter, #5 Jacob Vigna broke off a long run to put the Stallions in Eagle territory. #19 Caden TenBroeck ran it in for a touchdown to take the score to 12-0. But the Livonia Eagles responded with a quick touchdown and extra point. 

When the Stallions got the ball back #19 Caden TenBroeck took the ball to the house to make the score Stallions 18, Eagles 7.

In the third quarter, the Eagles moved the ball effectively, chewing up a big chunk of the clock. The Eagles scored a touchdown making the score Stallions 18 - Eagles 14. On offense, #19 Caden TenBroeck made another long run for a touchdown. The Stallions defense held the Eagles at the half thanks to a key tackle by #29 Benjamin Rothschild as time expired. 

Halftime Score: Stallions 24; Eagles 14

The Eagles started with the ball to kick off the second half. #3 Luca Ghannam had a big defensive opening series with 3 tackles in a row. 

After the Eagles scored on their next drive, #14 Abraham Frazier came up with a big stop to deny the Eagles the extra point attempt. Stallions 24 - Eagles 20

The Eagles stopped the Stallions on their next drive and then scored a touchdown and extra point to take the lead in the 5th quarter. Eagles 27 - Stallions 24.

The Stallions next drive stalled out near midfield. But thanks to big tackles by #23 Arthur Horton and #22 Franco Brown, the Stallions forced the Eagles to turnover the ball on downs.

The Stallions took over deep in their own territory down by three with under 5 minutes to play. #19 Caden TenBroeck had several long runs followed up by a touchdown to put the Stallions up 31-27.

With 2:07 left on the clock, the Eagles got the ball back and moved the ball deep into Stallions territory. But on the last play and with the game on the line, #19 Caden TenBroeck came up with a big tackle to seal the Stallions victory.  

Final Score: Stallions 31; Eagles 27
