On its way to a 14-0 victory, the Northville Stallion Freshman football team answered two challenges during Sunday’s game: a blistering-hot day and a stout gridiron opponent from Livonia, the Eagles.

Scoring opened when the Stallions turned the ball over on downs at their two-yard line.  On the next play, the Eagle's offense fumbled and Northville recovered the football in the end zone, resulting in a two-point safety for the Stallions.

With fewer than two minutes left in the second half, Northville found itself in a tough spot, 71 yards from the end zone. But an incredible pass from quarterback Crowe to Ashton “Crazy Legs” Kersey for 66 yards moved the ball to the five-yard line.  On the next play, Crowe scrambled to the left to score the first touchdown of the season for the Stallions.  The score at the half was 8-0, Northville Stallions.

Playing on defense, Liam Crowe recovered a fumble at the Livonia 29-yard line. Three plays later the Stallions were able to turn the Eagles’ error into a second touchdown.  From the eight-yard line, Crowe again scampered to the left and scored the second touchdown of the day for the Stallions.

The defensive prowess of the Stallions continued to shine in the second half, as they were able to complete the shutout by dominating the line of scrimmage, pushing the Eagles line into its backfield.
