Stallions Cheerleaders Rock Showcase

“Go! Fight! Win!” We are used to hearing these chants on chilly autumn mornings as we gear up for football games.  But, this year we have COVID.  Normally, August starts practice for football and cheer in anticipation of a Superbowl win or 1st place at Cheerfest.  These aspirations were put on hold as piece by piece, the season was dismantled.  With so much of the season being unknown – a delayed start, cancelled Cheerfest, cancelled football season (at the time), Stallions cheer persevered.

Stallion Freshmen and Flag cheer began practice in August with no Cheerfest and no sideline cheer.  As our Stallions community coalesced around what can we do to offer the best experience and a sense of normalcy to our cheerleaders, the idea of a Cheer Showcase was born.  Twice a week, Freshmen and Flag cheerleaders practiced cheers and perfected pom routines.  These girls are AMAZING!

Their hard work was on full display Sunday, October 5th at Tom Holzer Field.  24 Freshmen cheerleaders took the field and performed their best in class routine to the theme song from Ghostbusters.  22 Flag cheerleaders (20 first year cheerleaders!), rocked it out to Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now”.  On-site to support our girls were Northville High School PomPon and Northville Middle School Pom.  Their performances were also much appreciated.

Much credit goes to the dedicated coaches ensuring adherence to COVID protocols, sorting through the start and stops of the season, working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure a seamless and curated experience for the girls.  We have the best coaches.

Stallion cheer continues as football season has been reinstated.  Cheer with us during the game and if you missed the Cheer Showcase, catch our routines during halftime.

Cheer loud! Cheer proud!
