Returners are athletes who participated in the previous season (2023) as part of the NYFA organization (Colts or Stallions).

Veteran Siblings are siblings of Colts/Stallions athletes who participated in the previous season (2023).

SMYFA Veterans are athletes who reside in the Northville School District's geographical area and participated in the previous season (2023) as part of another SMYFA team.

 

Parents register players and cheerleaders using the online registration tool. Veterans/Returners in good standing register first and are guaranteed a roster spot. Any veteran who fails to timely register within the official veteran registration period loses veteran status for that registration year and shall be considered for registration purposes a new player.

 

Veteran siblings and SMYFA veterans may register during veteran registration but are not guaranteed a spot on a team/unit. Remaining open spots are filled on a first come, first served basis. No tryouts are allowed by any team.

Parents will be notified via e-mail if their child is placed on a team and will need to complete the steps outlined in the e-mail to secure their child's spot on a team in the time frame allotted (i.e., make payment and supply copy of birth certificate to Registrar). Parents will also be notified if their child is placed on a waitlist.

To secure a spot on a team, the following conditions must be met:

• Payment is received in full by the deadline

• Copy of birth certificate is provided to Registrar by the deadline (new players only)

• Physical form is provided to the Registrar by the deadline (before first day of practice)
