Players and cheerleaders districted to Hillside Middle School are assigned to the Colts. Players and cheerleaders districted to Meads Mill Middle School are assigned to the Stallions. NYFA reserves the right to move players between teams.

Each team has four units:  Flag, Freshman, JV and Varsity. Units are assigned based on age (football) or grade (cheer).

 

Football Eligibility

The weight criteria are only applicable to tackle football players. The age group criteria are based on a player's age on August 31st.

Players are assigned to units based on the criteria listed in the table below.

Players entering/enrolled in high school are NOT eligible to play in the league.

⁎ For the 2022 season, returning Varsity players that have played in the program since 2020 are eligible for the 12–13-year-old age group if their birthdate is between August 1, 2008 – July 31, 2010.

Cheer eligibility is based on grade.

Players and cheerleaders earn veteran status for the following season by meeting all participation, volunteer, and code of conduct requirements. Players with veteran status and their siblings are guaranteed a spot on a team/unit the following season.
