All NYFA football players and cheerleaders will reside within the Northville School District's geographical area. Individuals who attend private schools or are home schooled but still reside in the Northville School District's geographical area will be considered. Individuals from other cities or those who reside outside of the Northville School District's geographical area will only be considered if team openings still exists after recruitment of Northville School District residents/students.
Athletes districted to Hillside Middle School are assigned to the Colts. Athletes districted to Meads Mill Middle School are assigned to the Stallions. NYFA reserves the right to move players between teams.
All participants must meet league age and football weight requirements. Each team has four units: Flag, Freshman, JV and Varsity. Units are assigned based on age (football) or grade (cheer).
Football eligibility is based on grade and weight.

Players and cheerleaders earn veteran status for the following season by meeting all participation, volunteer, and code of conduct requirements.
Players with veteran status, their siblings and SMYFA veterans will be given adequate notice and opportunity to register prior to open enrollment of New Players.
All New Players will be given adequate notice and opportunity to register following commencement of Veteran registration. New Player enrollment will be conducted using first-come, first-serve.
